Display Lighting

Return to the summary page

Display lighting is an important part of any retail or exhibition lighting scheme. Basis offers a number of display lighting solutions mainly in 12v tungsten halogen dichroic but also in 240v halogen and LED.

LED lighting is becoming more popular because it is more energy efficient than 12v, 12v being more efficient than 240v. LED is also very long life, typically lamps can last 50,000 hours (this is calculated by the lamp reaching 50% brightness at 50,000 hours)

LED lamps are available as 'retrofit' in MR11 Gu4 and MR16 Gu5.3 and can be accomodated into most if not all our existing housings.

Basis has a range of display lighting called 'Connect' which is a plug-in range, allowing the light to be plugged into a socket after the socket has been fixing in place. Also available are the Vitro and the Pendum, the difference being the Vitro has the lamp at 90 degrees to the stem allowing the light to be shone back onto the fixing surface, the pendum can only shine forward or at right angles, or any angle in between.

Another popular range of display lighting is the Dual, which is available in a number of different forms. Dual D being one lamp above the other, Dual T being a Tee joint as the name suggests. This range of display lighting can be expanded to take a variety of lamp combinations.

Basis also stocks the Whitestar, best used for lighting chrome silver and jewellery, 4200˚k, 5300˚k and 6500˚k. 10w lamps can be used where minimal heat is required and LED's are not suitable.
